"I have used New Sky Tree Service 3 times over the last 3 years and have been very happy with their work.

Once was to remove a leaning 80 foot Monterey pine tree precariously located on a steep slope squeezed between my house and my neighbor's house.  The job was not an easy one is that they had to carefully bring down every section of the tree via ropes and then pull them up the hill to be chipped at the street level, all of this without touching either house.

Another time was to trim 2 grand oak trees that had been topped by the previous owners and had turned into messy bush trees. They did an excellent job being careful not to remove more than 20% of the foliage (for tree survival reasons), reduced, thinned and shaped them, returning them their former glory.

The most recent job they did for me and my neighbor was monumental.  We had four 100-feet tall Monterey pines, one of which snapped in one of the many storms this winter and missed my neighbor's house by 3 feet!!  Carlos, the owner of New Sky Tree Service, responded right away and was on time for our appointment to assess the situation.  He is super knowledgeable being that he is not only an arborist, but also a certified Risk Assessor. He explained exactly how the job would get done, was very open to my strict instructions not to damage any existing vegetation - hard to do on a 45 degree slippery slope given the amount of wood involved with 4 trees that size.  Carlos had his crew there as soon as the rain let up for a few hours in order to crown/top all 3 of the trees still standing to reduce the risk of them going down like the first one did, possibly crushing my neighbor's house.

Carlos has his crew's safety as one of his top priorities. Again, this job was extremely dangerous due to the 45 degree slope but also because the trees themselves were so tall and leaning. I couldn't even count how many ropes, harnesses and helmets I could see from my house. They understand the physics of the roping process to secure the lines on other healthier trees and using pulleys to gently lower every section they would cut off the tree.  No large branch was ever dropped straight down to the ground.  

The job ended up taking them weeks, and when it was all over, they had not damaged one healthy plant anywhere on our hillside and had COMPLETELY cleanup the hillside and driveway of all debris.  It was actually very impressive. New Sky Tree Service was one of about 6 companies that my neighbor and I put through the bidding process for our very large job. Some companies never sent us their bids, some refused to do the job, and some quoted us astronomical prices.

For every job New Sky quoted me, they were at about half the cost of other tree companies, yet they are licensed (as an arboriste), insured and very important, carry workmen's comp.  

I recommended New Sky to several neighbors who have since used them.  They all got back to me to tell me how satisfied they were with the results, whether it be the removal of trees or the more delicate art of pruning/thinning trees.
